“ The hot honey bourbon smash hands down my favorite drink right now. Paired with the Quesa-Birria & it's a solid date night. Service is good, vibes are good! ”
“ This place is amazing. From the great menu options to the variety of margaritas flavors. Highly recommend. ”
“ I love that I don't have to go to Edwardsville to enjoy this spot anymore! But it was ALWAYS worth the trip! The freshness of the food, the drinks, the customer service! Top Tier!! ”
“ What a great place! You would have second thoughts after seeing a restaurant in the middle of a commercial building, but the atmosphere, customer service, and excellent food and drinks will say otherwise! This was very good food, they serve it fast, and the amount of drinks available it's incredible! I had the tropical margaritas, and they were excellent! You need to come to this place! ”
“ I came here with my family for lunch on a Sunday. We were seated promptly and taken care of quickly. The menu had a lot of options to choose from. Including a ton of margarita flavors, which I love. I had the birria tacos and OMG! They were delicious. So cheesy and flavorful! Some of the best tacos I have ever had. Even my grandma, who isn't a big Mexican fan, highly enjoyed her steak fajita quesadilla. The prices are a bit high, but worth the cost. For high quality food and a pleasant atmosphere. This place is awesome. I will definitely be returning soon. ”
“ Eating at Wahaka felt like eating at a luxury restaurant with a casual atmosphere and reasonable menu prices. I was very impressed with the atmosphere as it would be a great date night place as well. With how nice the restaurant looked, I was a little concerned about pricing, but I found their prices to be moderate and the food was worth it. We were there during lunch hours on a Tuesday afternoon, so it wasn't too busy. Our server was attentive and helpful. The food came out fast and it was piping hot. My husband and I split the fajitas. The veggies were cooked (not too soft) and seasoned perfectly. The steak and chicken were tender and full of flavor as well. The sides were good, nothing too crazy there. Overall it was a great experience! ”
“ I came here on a Friday for lunch with my wife since she was wanting to try this location out. The place still looks brand new with nice ambiance and windows surrounding the dining area. I had the steak fajitas while my wife chose the Chori pollo. The fajita consisted of sirloin , not the typical skirt steak and was pretty tender. I feel that the seasoning could have been increased. The chicken/ chorizo dish was definitely cooked well (not dried out and tough) and full of flavor. I have a couple different dishes I want to try when I head back. The chimichanga are next. Pics included.... ”
“ I had such a great experience here! My family and I went around 1 PM for lunch on Mother's Day. The restaurant was pretty packed, which we had fully anticipated for the holiday. After checking in at the host stand, we were told that it would be about a 20 minute wait for the four of us, but I don't even think we had to wait that long before our table was ready to go. They have lots of seating options, including booths, tables, high tops, and bar seating. They have some cute outdoor seating options as well. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. I recognized right away that despite the crowds, the noise level in the restaurant was very pleasant. Our server Taylor was very friendly and attentive. I could tell that she knows the extensive menu very well, as she was able to answer lots of our questions with no hesitation! For drinks, our order included a strawberry margarita on the rocks, a frozen strawberry margarita, a frozen raspberry margarita, and a frozen guava margarita. All were delicious! Each of my family members ordered a burrito. I ordered Vegetarian Street Tacos on flour tortillas with a side of rice. Everything was outstanding, including the chips and salsa! The burritos were huge, so we were able to get a to-go box and take the rest home for leftovers. I can't wait for my next visit here! ”
“ Came for a single margarita with my sister after a long work day and ended up staying for dinner and 2 more margs! Rooftop bar is a nice place to wait for your table to be ready with a few drink options. ”
“ We were in town for the weekend and our realtor suggested we dine at Wahaka. The name looks like it's Hawaiian, but it's how you pronounce Oaxaca, a city in Mexico. This new location has been open for about a month and follows its Edwardsville location. As they don't take reservations on Friday and Saturday, we headed over to see about the wait. The hostess said an hour, so we put our name in and headed to their rooftop bar for some excellent margaritas. About an hour later, we were seated on their outdoor patio. Our server Onesimo welcomed us warmly and suggested a few of his favorites. The traditional chips and salsa arrived next. Tangy salsa and crisp chips. We went with one of Onesimo's recommendations and ordered the Volcano Dip. The description in the menu doesn't do justice for this. When it arrives in a large stone bowl, the cheese mix is bubbling like lava. It doesn't cool down for at least 10 minutes. Onesimo said they bake the bowl in an oven to produce the effect. I'm not a lawyer but I think there could be a liability issue if someone got burned. So watch the kiddos. It's truly a unique and memorable dish. For entrees, my daughter ordered the Fajitas Wahaka with Chicken ($16). She felt it needed more seasoning, but overall it was really good. I ordered the Wahaka Special ($18) which I read about in a Yelp review. It consists of sirloin steak, grilled chicken and shrimp. It was delish and oh so filling. If I was to sum up our first visit, Wahaka delivers lots of high quality food for affordable prices. And the margaritas make it even better! ”
